Glenfiddich™ Spirit of Scotland Award for Food

Salar Smokehouse won the prestigious 2007 Glenfiddich Spirit of Scotland Award for Food. The glittering black tie award ceremony was held in the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow on 29 November, compere for the evening was Kirsty Wark and the Food Award was presented to Jane Twelves of Salar Smokehouse by Andrew Fairlie, head chef at Gleneagles Hotel.
The Glenfiddich Awards set out to recognise people who embody the spirit of Scottish success. They celebrate the best aspirations across Scottish life from culture and cuisine to business and sporting achievement.

Jane Twelves said "We launched Flaky Smoked Salmon at the Good Food Show in Birmingham exactly 10 years ago. Winning the Glenfiddich Spirit of Scotland Award is the crowning achievement of 10 years of Flaky Smoked Salmon. It's just wonderful that we won such a massively prestigious award - many thanks to everyone who voted for us and to all our customers!"
